The Web’s Paradox of Power

Here is the latest in my series of essays, TV News in a Postmodern World.

I regularly engage in the process of introducing new concepts to television executives, and some are easier to grasp than others. This one falls into the latter category, but I believe it’s the one that separates the men from the boys in terms of the courage to move forward. Simply put, power and influence online are determined by others, and it can’t be “managed” to our benefit. This demands a level of trust that is foreign to us, but it is essential for our online future.
