The coming awakening

According to Jeff Jarvis, Len Apcar, editor in chief of, told the Harvard journalism conference that he is “ecstatic we bought because it says the New York Times is not a newspaper company.”

This is a revelation for the venerable institution and an awakening I’m trying to encourage among my television clients.

We MUST get past the block of being a television station in order to compete for local ad dollars downstream. It isn’t about the television pie anymore. It’s much bigger than that.
