Politics in a Postmodern World

Politics in a Postmodern World
I promised myself I wouldn’t say anything about the California election, but I can’t resist. While the ivory tower experts are all over themselves about the journalistic atrocity of Arnold sidestepping them, I’m sitting here with a smile on my face. Why? Because people who live in their own world seldom see what’s happening in the real world. Overcome by oxygen deprivation atop their own pedestals, these alleged observers are upset, because the world is refusing to play by their rules anymore. The big loser in the California election, as Eric Deggans writes, is the traditional news media. Postmodernism is neither a theory nor a myth; it’s the world in which we live these days.
