Rafat Ali, founder of PaidContent.org (and a guy who really knows his stuff), says advertising will always be the biggest revenue generator on the Web. “I have always maintained,” he tells Media Life, “that not getting advertising is a business development problem.” The subscription revenue model, Ali contends, will be around, but only for specialized content. “I think pay-per-view will in a matter of few years develop to be the next ladder up, and then subscription will come next.”
